Monday, December 17:

  • Planning Commission/Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting, 5:30 pm, at City Hall in the City Manager’s Conference Room, 201 W. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS. Please note: the December meeting will be held at 5:30 pm Monday, December 17, in the downstairs meeting room in the Pittsburg Public Library, 308 N. Walnut St., Pittsburg, KS. All meetings in 2019 will return to regular day of the month and location in January 2019 (fourth Monday of each month at the Beard-Shanks Law Enforcement Center).   • Story Time at the Library, 6:30 pm, at Pittsburg Public Library, 308 N. Walnut St., Pittsburg, KS. Story Time sessions take place Monday evenings at 6:30 pm, Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am, and Wednesday mornings at 10:00 am. Sessions continue through Wednesday, December 19.   • Tech Tuesday, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, at Pittsburg Public Library, 308 N. Walnut St., Pittsburg, KS. Open to kids and teens ages 10 – 18. Kids and teens are invited to the library’s second floor Tech Lab on Tuesday afternoons for Tech Tuesdays. Join us for a technology playground including snap circuits, marble mazes, gaming and more. Tech Tuesdays are open to kids and young adults ages 10 —18. No registration is required for this free program. Please note that the Library is closed on Tuesday, December 25.   • Canes and Coloring with Santa, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm, at City Hall, 201 W. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus are paying a special visit to City Hall. Parents are welcome to bring their kids for photos with Santa and take home candy canes. Each child will receive a coloring book with crayons. There is no cost to attend this event. All ages welcome.   • Talking Heads Discussion Group, 9:00 am and 10:00 am, at the Pittsburg Public Library, 308 N. Walnut St., Pittsburg, KS. The Talking Heads discussion group continues on Friday mornings.
