Our Mission
Welcome to the City of Pittsburg Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Department strives to provide customer-focused services and innovative solutions to optimize the City of Pittsburg’s most valuable resource, its employees. We strive to create and maintain a supportive work environment for all people and to provide excellent services to all citizens. To accomplish this mission we work as a team to develop partnerships and communication with our internal/external clients and our co-workers. Application Procedures
Applications are accepted only when a job posting is active. Applications can be submitted online by clicking the “apply online” link next to the job posting. Completed applications may also be submitted to Human Resources located at City Hall, 201 W. 4th St, Pittsburg, 66762. The City of Pittsburg is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment
The City of Pittsburg employs approximately 320 employees, which includes several part-time and seasonal employees during the summer months. The City has a wide variety of positions that require varied skills and abilities from heavy physical labor to highly trained skills and technical expertise.
Become a Firefighter
The Pittsburg Fire Department is a member of the Tri-State Fire Recruitment Alliance. The Alliance periodically conducts pre-employment written and Physical Ability Testing (PAT) to establish a hiring pool for a 12-month period. Applicants for Police Officer must be 21 years of age at the time of appointment. In addition to the City of Pittsburg application, applicants must complete the supplemental information form for police department applicants.
