Burglary and Criminal Damage Incidents

On Sunday morning, June 7, 2026, at approximately 7:43 a.m., officers with the Pittsburg Police Department were dispatched to the Pittsburg High School, located at 1978 E. 4th Street, regarding damage to the softball field and concession stand areas. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple areas that had been vandalized with graffiti and other property damage.

Later that evening, at approximately 9:44 p.m., officers were again dispatched to the Pittsburg High School in response to a burglary alarm. Upon arrival, officers located two juvenile males inside the building.

Both juveniles were arrested on charges of Burglary, Theft, and Interference with Law Enforcement. Following processing and screening by juvenile intake authorities, both were released to a guardian.

At this time, it is unknown whether the vandalism and burglary incidents are connected. Investigations into both cases remain ongoing.
