PPRD announce fall parent-child nights

The Pittsburg Park and Recreation Department has several parent-and-child nights scheduled for the upcoming fall season. These events give families a chance to connect while enjoying free food, games, and arts and crafts.
Start your engines and get revved up for Mother and Son Date Night. The Mother and Son Date Night is at 3 p.m. for ages two through six and 6 p.m. for ages seven through 14 on Sept. 19 at the Lincoln Center. There will be arts and crafts, food and drinks, and games. Tickets are $40 per pair of attendees and $20 for each additional attendee. Call PPRD to RSVP by Sept. 9.
Reel in your excitement. The Father and Son Fishing Night will be at 5 p.m. on Oct. 3 at Lakeside Park, 402 W. Washington St. Attendees can enjoy games, food, fishing and prizes. Tickets are $40 per pair of attendees and $20 for each additional attendee. Call PPRD to RSVP by Oct. 1. This special event was made possible by Albers Marine and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
Dive under the waves and enjoy a night of sea-themed fun. The Shimmer & Shells Mother and Daughter Date Night is at 3 p.m. for ages two through six and 6 p.m. for ages seven through 14 on Oct. 24 at the Lincoln Center. This event includes three under-the-sea-themed crafts, refreshments, a photo booth, a visit from a special character and more. Tickets are $40 per pair of attendees. Call PPRD to RSVP by Oct. 14.
