Portion of Locust Street closed for resurfacing project

PITTSBURG, KS – Locust Street from Jefferson Street to Fourth Street will be closed to allow for the milling of the existing asphalt surface. Work began Wednesday, March 11, and will take place over the next couple of weeks.

Once the asphalt has been milled, resurfacing will begin. The road will only be closed during the business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and will reopen to through traffic in the evenings.

Advance notification signs will be in place during construction. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes when possible, to use extreme caution when traveling in the area of construction, and be aware of workers in the work zone.
