Mother & Daughter Date Night set for Oct. 25

A special event for daughters and their mothers is set for Oct. 25 at Lincoln Center, located at 710 W. 9^th St. in Pittsburg.

The event, Sprinkles & Sparkles: Mother & Daughter Date Night, is hosted by the Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Department and will have two sessions. One session starts at 3 p.m. for children aged two through six and the second session starts at 6:30 p.m. for children aged seven through 14.

To participate, families must RSVP by Oct. 13. The event costs $30 per couple and $15 for each additional attendee. Families can call the PPRD at 620-231-8310 to register for the event.

Children aged two through six will receive a sparkly tutu to wear and take home, they will decorate cupcakes with frosting and sprinkles, make a sparkly paper crown to match their tutu, and create glittery star wands.

Children aged seven through 14 will create jewelry with beads, decorate cupcakes with sprinkles and fun toppings, paint a mother-daughter “best friends” canvas, and create sparkle keychains or bag charms.

Both sessions will have a photo booth with playful props. Snacks and refreshments will be provided for both groups.
