Police Department Press Release

March 22, 2024

March 22, 2024
Released by Lt. Adàn Nance

On early Saturday morning, March 16, 2024, at approximately 1:39 AM, a Pittsburg Police Officer was on routine patrol in the 100 block of N. Broadway St. when they heard what they believed to be a series of gunshots coming from the east of their location. The officer relayed hearing the shots to dispatch and then drove toward the direction of the gunshots to discover several vehicles quickly leaving the parking lot just south of Jimmy B’s bar, which is located at 202 N. Locust St.

Officers spoke with witnesses who were still present at the location and determined an unidentified suspect had fired several gunshots at a vehicle that was driving away from the parking lot. The suspect then fled the scene in another vehicle.

While officers were on scene, the victim, whose vehicle was shot at by the suspect, called the police department to report the offense. Officers then followed up with the victim and determined no injuries had been sustained during this incident, but the victim’s vehicle had been struck several times by bullets.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing at this time. Anyone having information related to this incident, or other crimes, is urged to contact the Pittsburg Police Department at (620) 231-1700, or at our automated tip line, (620) 231-TIPS (8477). Callers may remain anonymous.
