Families can come together to cast, catch and connect during the upcoming Family Fishing Night at Lakeside Park.

This free event will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at Lakeside Park located at 402 W. Washington St, Pittsburg. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is required, and a finishing license is not required for this event.

All equipment will be provided with support from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP). The lake is stocked with an additional 500 fish thanks to the Farlington Fish Hatchery and KDWP.

“We are appreciative of the support from KDWP and Farlington Fish Hatchery,” Director of Parks and Recreation Kris Loy said. “We’re excited to have families come together for a day of fishing and fun.”
