27th Street Reconstruction Project Begins

PITTSBURG, KS – The City of Pittsburg is scheduled to begin construction on the East 27th Terrace and 27th Street Reconstruction Project starting Wednesday, November 15, weather permitting.

Starting Wednesday, November 15, a section of 27th Street from the south entrance of Walmart Supercenter to Joplin Street will be closed to all traffic for road reconstruction.

Then, 27th Street from Broadway to Joplin Street will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, November 27. During the construction period, the traffic light at Broadway and 27th Street will be converted to a yellow flashing light.

Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes when in and around the construction zone, use extreme caution when traveling, and be aware of workers in the work zone. The City of Pittsburg appreciates the patience of motorists and residents while this work is being performed.
