Compost Facility

The City of Pittsburg relocated its compost site to serve as a long-term temporary location until the City completes construction of the new Waste Water Treatment Facility. The new site is located 1/8 mile east of 23rd Street and Michigan Street, on the north side of the road. The compost site will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Residents are encouraged to use the site for leaves and grass clippings only. No other materials will be accepted in the compost pile. Proper use of the facility will help ensure it remains safe, clean, and accessible for everyone. The finished compost is available to the public free of charge.
