A special event is an event held in the City for the public that may require special arrangements for traffic and crowd control, use of fireworks, or banners.

Examples include: parades, block parties, markets, art walks, marathons/5ks, and shows at Memorial Hall.

For additional information, please see the attached special event ordinance (Article 36) linked above.

Yes, we will need a map of your event location and where you need any barricades (if applicable).

If you are doing a block party, you will need to get signatures on our special event permit block event neighbor notice form. At least 1/3 of anyone that it may affect, such as neighbors or businesses in the neighborhood of the block party, must provide their signature.

If alcohol is being sold at the event, there are additional licensing requirements. Alcohol licensure may take longer than a few weeks to be approved, so please submit your special event application well in advance if alcohol will be involved.

To submit documents, please email them to permitservices@pittks.org with an explanation of what application that they are for.
