City Prosecutor Responsibilities

The prosecutor for the City of Pittsburg prosecutes violations of the criminal and traffic laws of Kansas and provides services to victims and witnesses to ensure their fair treatment in the criminal justice system.

Meet the City Prosecutor

John G. Mazurek has served as the city prosecutor since 1997.

He earned his law degree from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wichita State University.

He is a member of the Kansas Bar Association (KBA), the Crawford County Bar Association, and the Kansas County and District Attorneys Association.

Mazurek is married to Diann Mazurek and they have two children. They live in Pittsburg and are members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
