A native of Cherokee, KS, Hite grew up on a farm and is a proud Southeast Lancer. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Pittsburg State University before pursuing her law degree at Washburn University in Topeka.

Although she built strong connections in Topeka, Hite always felt drawn back to Southeast Kansas. During summer breaks, she returned to Pittsburg, eventually planting her professional roots in the community. After her first year of law school, she reached out to Spigarelli Law Firm, which offered her a summer position. She returned each summer and was later hired as an attorney after graduation.

She later transitioned to defense work, serving in that capacity for the past five years before stepping into her new role as City Prosecutor.

Hite is deeply involved in the Pittsburg community. She is a member of the Pittsburg Sunrise Rotary (past president and current secretary), a Pittsburg Area Chamber Ambassador and board member, and an active alumna of Tri Sigma and a member of PEO. She also serves on the Crawford County Bar Association.

Outside of her professional and civic duties, Hite enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and attending football games.
