Portion of Free Kings Hwy to be closed for utility work

PITTSBURG, KS – Crawford County Road & Bridge in conjunction with the City of Pittsburg Public Works & Utilities Department will be replacing storm covert pipes along a portion of Free Kings Hwy, weather permitting.

A section of Free Kings Hwy between East 20th Street and East Atkinson Street will be closed to through traffic during construction.

Work is anticipated to start on Thursday, October 26 and continue through the following week. Barring unforeseen conditions, road closures will only be in place during business hours on weekdays.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes including East 20th Street, North Rouse Street, and East Atkinson Street to detour around the work zone. The City is asking drivers to use extreme caution when traveling in the area of construction and be aware of workers in the work zone.

The City of Pittsburg along with Crawford County appreciates the patience of motorists and residents while this work is being performed.
