Pittsburg City Commission Meeting Recap – April 14, 2020

PITTSBURG, KS – The following actions were taken at the Pittsburg City Commission meeting held on April 14, 2020:

Commissioners approved the following items under the consent agenda:

  • The March 24, 2020, City Commission Meeting minutes.
  • Appropriation Ordinance for the period ending April 14, 2020, subject to the release of HUD expenditures when funds are received.

The following item was pulled from the consent agenda for further discussion:

  • Memorial Drive Trail – Commissioner Munsell asked to remove the Memorial Drive Trail contract from the consent agenda in order to ask when construction would begin and when it was scheduled to be completed. The project is expected to begin in May and take 25 working days. Commissioners unanimously voted to approve staff recommendation to adopt a resolution awarding the bid for the construction of the trail to Martin Outdoor Enterprises, Inc., of Pittsburg, Kansas, to include the commitment of city funds in the amount of $58,000, per an agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation.

 

City Commission Meetings:

The Pittsburg City Commission meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm, inside the Beard-Shanks Law Enforcement Center courtroom. Members of the public are encouraged to watch these meetings remotely.
