Narcotics Arrests

On Monday, June 1, 2026, at approximately 8:55 a.m., law enforcement officers with the Pittsburg Police Department, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant at a residence in the 100 Block of W. Mead Street, in Pittsburg. The KBI’s High Risk Warrant Team was utilized to make initial entry into the residence.
The warrant was the result of an investigation into the possession and distribution of methamphetamine. During the execution of the warrant, four individuals were detained and items of evidence were collected.
As a result of the investigation, 65-year-old Pamela S. Whetzell, and 60-year-old Jaycee G. Jones, both of Pittsburg, were arrested and transported to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for booking.
Ms. Whetzell was arrested on the following charges:
- Felony distribution of methamphetamine
- Felony possession of methamphetamine
- Felony possession of narcotics
- Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
- Misdemeanor possession of marijuana
- Misdemeanor possession of hallucinogens
Mr. Jones was arrested for the following charges:
- Felony possession of methamphetamine
- Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
- Misdemeanor failure to appear warrant out of Pittsburg Municipal court.
Ms. Whetzell is currently being held without bond. Mr. Jones is being held in lieu of a $499 bond for his municipal court arrest warrant.
Ms. Whetzell and Mr. Jones are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
