The Pittsburg Fire Department will kick off Fire Safety Week with a free Open House from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Fire Station No. 1.
The Open House will offer community members of all ages a chance to connect with local firefighters while learning about fire safety in an interactive environment. There will also be multiple fun, hands-on opportunities for children to see the Fire House’s equipment up close and meet with the fire personnel who serve their community. Activities include fire station tours, photograph opportunities with firefighters and fire engines, fire extinguisher training, kitchen fire safety demonstrations, a children’s firefighter obstacle course, fire hose activities and bounce houses.
Fire Station No. 1 is located at 911 W. Fourth Street. The event is free and open to the public. No RSVP is required. Attendees are encouraged to stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. People can park along the streets nearby to access the fire station. Handicapped accessible parking is available at the front of Fire Station 1.
