The City of Pittsburg is now accepting applications for candidates to serve on a Sustainability Advisory Committee. The new citizen-lead advisory group will help the City address issues centered on sustainability.

The seven-person committee will advise commissioners and staff with future environmental protection, waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, and natural resource conservation efforts. The group will also assist the City to identify and pursue potential funding sources to promote sustainability, and foster community participation for sustainability practices and programs.

Members shall serve a two-year term of office and must have an interest in the promotion and establishment of sustainability issues and practices. Positions will remain open until filled.

Those interested in volunteering may apply in-person at City Hall, 201 W. 4th St, Pittsburg, or contact City Clerk Tammy Nagel at (620) 231-4100.
