123 Andrés to perform at MACC

GRAMMY-winning family music duo 123 Andrés brings bilingual concert to MACC Sept. 17

Get ready to sing, dance, and celebrate with the whole family as the Grammy and Latin Grammy Award-winning duo 123 Andrés takes the stage at Memorial Auditorium at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17.

Known for their high-energy, interactive performances, Christina and Andrés create an unforgettable experience that combines music, movement, and learning. Their original songs seamlessly blend Spanish and English while drawing inspiration from musical traditions across Latin America, creating a fun and engaging concert for children, parents, grandparents, and educators alike.

“Our goal is to bring families together through music while celebrating language, culture, and joy,” said Memorial Auditorium General Manager Darcie Shultz. “123 Andrés creates an experience where everyone—from toddlers to grandparents—can sing, dance, laugh, and learn together. We’re excited to welcome them to Pittsburg.”

Many families may already recognize 123 Andrés from their Scholastic Book Fair, where five of their original songs have been transformed into bilingual children’s books. The duo also co-hosts the PBS KIDS original podcast Jamming on the Job alongside Pierce Freelon, introducing young listeners to exciting careers through music and storytelling.

During the live performance, audiences can expect catchy songs, silly dance moves, and plenty of audience participation. Andrés will even create live beats on stage using his looper pedal, adding an exciting musical element that keeps every performance fresh and interactive.

123 Andrés will perform at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Memorial Auditorium and Convention Center, located at 503 N. Pine Street in Pittsburg. This performance is free to attend thanks to a Community Impact Grant from the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas and is in collaboration with the Pittsburg State University’s Hispanic Music Festival’s Music Under the Stars event.

Need to Know:

• Chairs are not provided. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket.
• No outside food or drink.
• Alcohol is not permitted.
• In the event of inclement weather, the program will move inside to the theater.
• Free street parking is available on 5th Street, Pine Street, and surrounding corner lots. Please note – 6th Street, on the south side of the building, between Pine and the alleyway will be closed to traffic.
