Pittsburg State University
Pittsburg State University is known for nationally recognized academics, caring faculty, state-of-the-art facilities and championship athletics. PSU is one of six Kansas Board of Regents universities and is made up of four colleges: Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, and Technology. The Kansas Technology Center is the first of it’s kind in Kansas and one of few across the nation.
The university is an integral part of the region and provides many opportunities for people in the area to develop their professional skills through seminars, workshops, classes, and conferences. The university is accredited by all the major accrediting agencies and provides its graduates with an excellent opportunity for employment following graduation.

Kansas Industrial Training
The Kansas Industrial Training (KIT) Program is available to new or expanding businesses.
Kansas Industrial Retraining
The Kansas Industrial Retraining (KIR) Program provides training to employees that become displaced due to obsolete or inadequate work skills.
Investments in Major Projects and Comprehensive Training
The Investments in Major Projects and Comprehensive Training (IMPACT) program is designed to respond to the training and capital requirements of major business expansions and locations in the state.
Area Community Colleges
Fort Scott Community College boasts a large catalog of courses including HVAC, Masonry, welding and the John Deere Technician Training program. FSCC is located in Fort Scott, KS and has locations in and near Pittsburg.
Labette County Community College hosts the Cherokee Center on the border of Cherokee and Crawford Counties just minutes south of Pittsburg. LCC offers both general education and developmental courses.
