City of Pittsburg Housing & Community Development

Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing through the Emergency Solutions Grant. Services for those experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless who meet program requirements. Assessments and appointments completed by phone or email at this time. Call (620) 240-5167. Section 8 rental assistance is also provided within the city of Pittsburg. Wesley House

Wesley House remains open Tuesday through Thursday, 10:00 am until 3:00 pm by appointment. Homeless food bags and hospital wash wipes are available. Call (620) 232-3760.

 

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army in Pittsburg is open and can assist with clothing and hygiene bags. Vouchers for the thrift store are available. Call (620) 231-0415 to make an appointment.

 

Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities provides housing resources for those experiencing homelessness. All appointments are scheduled via phone and TeleMed vendor. Utility assistance is also available. Call (620) 235-0633.

 

The Lord’s Diner

The Lord’s Diner is providing carry-out meals at their location, 406 N. Locust, Pittsburg, KS. Hours are 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm. Call (620) 240-4134.

 

Safehouse Crisis Center

Safehouse Crisis Center is providing outreach and referral services for victims of domestic violence and can house in extreme emergencies. Call 1-800-794-9148 (24/7).

 

SEK-CAP

SEK-CAP provides Section 8 Rental assistance in 10 counties (Allen, Bourbon, Cherokee, Crawford, Labette, Linn, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson, and Woodson), and Tenant-Based Rental Assistance for 12 counties (same counties as above, plus Elk and Chautauqua). They are currently accepting applications for Section 8 but their waiting list is a year from the date of application. Apply online: sekcap.housingmanager.com.
