Baton Twirling

Learn to Twirl with Pittsburg State University Feature Twirler, Megan Munger!

Instructional Classes

Ages: 5-12 / Open to both boys and girls

Days: Mondays & Wednesdays

Times: 6:45pm – 7:45pm

Session 1: August 20th – September 26th (6 weeks) / Fee: $50

Each session following is 4 weeks long and starts new each month

Fee is $35 each month AFTER Session 1; additional student in same household is $25.

Location: Lincoln Center, 710 W 9th

  • Batons provided for first month
  • Long hair must be in ponytail
  • Athletic clothes necessary

Batons can be purchased online at Megan (instructor) will help students with measurements. Students can borrow a baton until their order arrives.

Private Twirling Lessons

Private lessons also available for boys and girls ages 5-12 and are held at Lincoln Center. Lessons scheduled on first come, first served basis. Batons provided for first month of lessons. Lessons typically held on Friday evenings or weekends.  Private lesson fee is $10.00 per person per 1-hour session. Single or multiple lessons can be purchased. Camp Now & Then

PPRD offers a fun camp during the school year and summer months for school-aged children currently in Kindergarten through eighth grade.

School Year Camp Information: Offers fun, games, exercise and much more for those sporadic days when children are not in school from September – April; schedule follows USD 250 out of school days. Participants meet at Lakeside Elementary for camp dates offered except for November 19th-21st when they will meet at Westside Elementary. Registration fee must be paid at the time of registration and current paperwork as well as a picture is required.

Must bring a sack lunch; 2 snacks provided.

Fee: $12 Per Day/Per Child

Summer Camp Information: Offered Monday – Friday for ten weeks during the summer months from June – August for children ages 5 – 12. Participants meet at Lincoln Center, 710 W 9th St., for camp dates offered. Camp does not meet on July 3rd – 5th.

If your child is enrolled in a PPRD summer program (ex. Tennis Camp, Swim Lessons, Golf Clinic, etc.) a staff member will take your child to and from the program during camp. Parents are responsible for enrolling children in each program.

Fee: $14 Per Day/Per Child ($70/Wk)


$12 Per Day When Registering For A Full Week ($60/Wk)

Summer camp participants have the option of eating lunch free through PPRD or they can bring a sack lunch each day they attend camp; two additional snacks will be provided throughout the day as well.

Registration deadline for each camp date is 5:00 p.m. three business days before the desired camp date.


A variety of classes in tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop and performance designed for first timers up to advanced dancers. Classes are offered for boys and girls beginning at two years and older. Start here to learn and build on knowledge and technique.Space is limited, register today!

Life 101

These full day courses are designed to prepare upcoming/current high school students on life’s surprises that it tends to throw our way.  These classes will teach the students how: to change a tire, prepare a resume, basic sewing, setting up a bank account, survival training and so much more!

Finance Know-Hows & Survival Training

Safe Sitter

Designed to prepare students in grades 6th – 8th to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice rescue skills like choking rescue!

Students should bring a sack lunch.

Toddler Time

This is a FREE open gym type environment for toddlers ages newborn to 4 years. Parents can bring their children to Lincoln Center, 710 W. 9th St., on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. There will be toys and games for the parents and children to play together.

No Fee to Participate / Registration Not Required
