Downtown Pittsburg to celebrate 620 Day

PITTSBURG, KS – On Thursday, June 20, downtown Pittsburg will be buzzing with activity for 620 Day. Sponsored by the Downtown Advisory Board (DAB), the inaugural 620 Day celebration will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm inside the Farmer’s Market Pavilion, at the corner of 11th and Broadway St. Inspired by Pittsburg’s area code, 620 Day is a celebration of Pittsburg’s heritage, culture and uniqueness. This family-friendly event is open to all ages and is free to attend. Festivities include six food trucks, 18 vendors and live music inside the Farmers’ Market Pavilion from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The Shutter Bus photo booth will also be stationed at the pavilion, offering free photo prints throughout the evening. Additionally, 18 downtown stores will be open late-night hours to offer discounts and special offers for 620 Day shoppers. A passport giveaway is also planned for the event. DAB volunteers will be set up inside the pavilion to hand out downtown shopping passports. Participants who get their passports stamped by five downtown stores, and turn their passports back in by 8:00 pm that evening, will receive a free Downtown Pittsburg tote bag. No purchase is required.
