Individual Arrested for West First Street Burglaries

PITTSBURG, KAN. –

On Saturday night, June 16, 2018, at approximately 7:07 p.m., Law Enforcement Officers from the Pittsburg Police Department, responded to 706 W. 1st in reference to a report of a residential burglary. While investigating this above incident, officers discovered that a second residential burglary had occurred at 708 W. 1st. The victim of the first burglary report had observed a female suspect removing items from the residence at 708 W. 1st, and positively identified her to officers as a neighbor residing a few houses down on that same street. Subsequent follow up investigation resulted in a search warrant being served at 710 W. 1st to recover items of stolen property. During the execution of the search warrant, it was discovered that while committing these offenses, the suspect had left a loaded handgun in an area easily accessible to her 2 year old child.

25 year old Megan R. Bone, of Pittsburg, was arrested and transported to the jail at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for booking. Ms. Bone was arrested for two felony counts of residential burglary, one count of felony theft, one count of misdemeanor theft and one count of misdemeanor child endangerment. Ms. Bone was released on a $5,000.00 bond.
