Fire quickly extinguished, no injuries

At 10:23 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, the Pittsburg Fire Department received a report of a structure fire at Jake’s Fireworks located at 1506 E 27th Terrace.

The fire was near a workbench in the mechanics shop on east side of building. The fire was quickly extinguished, and crews began ventilating the area. The fire was contained to the room of origin with the activation of a sprinkler system.

There were no injuries reported.

The Pittsburg Police Department and Pittsburg Fire Department were immediately dispatched to the scene. Frontenac Fire Department was dispatched as mutual aid. Evergy and Kansas Gas were also on scene to assist.

The Kansas Fire Marshall and Pittsburg Fire Department conducted a join inspection of the full property.
