Farmers’ Market Opening Day and Earth Day Celebrations set for April 18

The community will have the opportunity to buy fresh produce and celebrate Earth Day during the Pittsburg Farmers’ Market’s grand opening.

The Farmers’ Market will open for the season at 8 a.m. to noon on April 18 at the Farmers’ Market Pavilion on 119 E 11th St, Pittsburg.

The Earth Day event will coincide with the opening with various local vendors, kid-friendly activities, and local community groups.

“Don’t get me wrong, I love Farmers’ Market on Saturdays in Pittsburg, but this one is super special,” said Farmers’ Market Manager Kayla Howard. “How wonderful it is that we get to reap the benefits of fresh produce and also be reminded of taking care of our Earth?”

The Farmers’ Market will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, starting April 18 and continuing through October 31. Kids Days will be on the third Saturday of each month, when children can learn about seeds, where food comes from, and other educational activities.
