PT Seasonal Maintenance Worker I

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a day shift position working Monday through Friday.  Primary duties are mowing and trimming of public and private properties that have been identified and/or sighted as a public nuisance.  Additional duties will include assisting with the Sanitation team with the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclables.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for mowing and trimming areas based on complaints or public nuisances that have not complied with City codes.
• Trash pick-up in areas where mowing occurs.
• Landscape maintenance.
• Assisting full time staff as assigned.
• These positions will work day shift hours primarily between 7:30am – 4:00 pm with occasional extended hours required.

POSITION COMPETENCIES

• Materials and equipment used: Zero Turn Lawn Mower; Push Lawn Mower; Weed Eater and other hand tools and equipment as necessary.
• Ability to maintain calm and professional demeanor while interacting with the public.
• Ability to follow work orders and instructions.
• Ability and proficiency with computers and mobile devices.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to read, understand and enforce City ordinances.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The principal duties of all these positions are performed outdoors and may include working in adverse weather conditions and hazards involving the use of power equipment and hazardous chemicals.
