O.K. Kid’s Day

Outdoor Kansas Kid’s Day is a statewide event designed to introduce not only children, but parents, grandparents, and friends to what the outdoors has to offer. A ton of events are offered each year and truly includes something for everyone and every age! This event is open to all ages, but all children under the age of 8 may need to be accompanied by an adult depending on the activtity.

Earlier in 2020 the O.K. Kid’s Day event was cancelled due to COVID-19. However, with a little bit of creativity and dedication to the event, staff has found a new way to encourage the youth continue to be active. A virtual event will be hosted online from November 9 – 14 on Pittsburg Parks & Recreation Facebook page. Simply join the event and check out the details. A variety of challenges will be available for children to complete. Upon completion, children can enter to win a number of prizes. In addition to the challenges, up to 100 “Adventure Boxes” will be given out to the first 100 children registered to receive a box. Boxes will be handed out to registered participants at the Holiday Craft Fair at the Farmers’ Market Pavilion on November 14th. For more information or to register, contact Pittsburg Parks & Recreation at 620-231-8310.
