Fire quickly extinguished, no injuries

On Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Pittsburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 609 E. 24th St., Pittsburg.

Upon arrival, smoke was witnessed coming from the attic. The fire was quickly extinguished and there was moderate damage to the structure. No injuries were reported.

The cause of fire is undetermined at this time.

The American Red Cross was contacted on behalf of the resident.
