Structure fire on Locust, no injuries

At 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1, the Pittsburg Fire Department received a report of a structure fire at 308 S. Locust.

The Pittsburg Police Department and Pittsburg Fire Department were immediately dispatched to the scene. There were no injuries reported.

Upon arrival, the fire was showing through the exterior of the home. Fire crews quickly entered the home and brought the fire under control. It was discovered that the cause of the fire was the improper use of a space heater. The home suffered extensive fire and smoke damage. The American Red Cross was contacted on behalf of the resident.
