NSPIRE landlord training postponed

The compliance date for National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) was extended, resulting in the postponement of the Pittsburg Public Housing Authority’s NSPIRE Landlord Training originally scheduled for this month.
The compliance deadline for implementing NSPIRE for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and Project-Based Voucher (PBV) programs (NSPIRE-V) has been moved from Oct. 1, 2025, to Feb. 1, 2027. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, this extension is intended to give public housing authorities additional time to implement the requirements effectively.
The training was intended to provide an opportunity for the Pittsburg Public Housing Authority to discuss the new standard (NSPIRE), which is replacing Housing Quality Standards. Topics during the training were to include health and safety, proactive maintenance practices, inspections and other standard changes.
A new training opportunity will be announced in the future, closer to the revised compliance deadline.
