Participants from the 2025 Leadership Kansas class will be in Pittsburg and the surrounding area from Oct. 15 through Oct. 17. They will engage with local experts and community leaders on topics including business, education, childcare, historic preservation, research, industry, economic development and government.

“We are honored to always be a stop for Leadership Kansas,” City Manager Daron Hall said. “We are excited to have this group of influential leaders learn how our community works to be a great place to live, work and do business.”

Stops in Pittsburg include Watco, the Besse Hotel, Washington School, Pitsco, and Miller’s Professional Imaging. They will also stop at several Pittsburg State University locations, including the Kelce College of Business, Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing, PSU Veterans Memorial and Crossland College of Technology.

Leadership Kansas is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious statewide leadership programs, according to a release from the Kansas Chamber and Kansas Chamber Education Foundation. Participants are nominated by their peers or community leaders and then selected to join the program. The class aims to develop and inspire leaders from across the state.

This program runs from April to November, with sessions in Dodge City, Garden City, Hays, Hutchinson, Kansas City, Leavenworth, Manhattan, Pittsburg, Salina, Topeka, and Wichita.
