For more than 12 years, the City of Pittsburg and the Pittsburg Public Housing Authority have partnered with community organizations to serve our most vulnerable citizens. Thanks to a grant and a partnership with Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas (CHC/SEK), the City of Pittsburg received a grant which will help individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
The Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) awarded the City of Pittsburg, and subrecipient, CHC/SEK, the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) in the amount of $97,363. The ESG grant period will run for fifteen months from July 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026.
The funding will support efforts to prevent individuals and families from experiencing homelessness and assist those who are currently homeless.
“The Pittsburg Public Housing Authority will provide Rapid Re-housing and Homeless Prevention funds through this grant. We are also pleased to partner with the Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas, which will support individuals experiencing homelessness through its Street Outreach program,” said Megan Keener, Assistant Director of Housing. “Together, these resources will help ensure that individuals and families have the support they need to achieve stability.”
