Evergy replaces transmission line poles

Weather permitting, starting on Jan. 19, 2026, Evergy will begin to replace several transmission line poles on E. Atkinson from Rouse to S. 250^TH Avenue. Atkinson will be down to one lane while crews are working. Evergy estimates the work will take three weeks depending on the weather.

Residents and pedestrians in the area are encouraged to be aware of the crews working and use extreme caution. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes when possible and to use extreme caution when traveling in the area of work. Please be aware of workers in the work zone.
