The City of Pittsburg announced the hiring of lifelong Pittsburg resident Stephanie Potter as the city’s new Public Information Manager.

Potter serves as the primary media contact for the city. She is responsible for internal and external communication activities and informational campaigns.

“It’s a privilege to share Pittsburg’s story,” Potter said. “I’m committed to accurately and transparently representing the city’s ongoing work and the voices that shape its community.”

Potter has a history of working in both the journalism and public relations fields. She also taught future communication professionals at area colleges as an adjunct instructor.

Potter studied at Pittsburg State University, where she earned a Master of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Communication. She is involved in several organizations, including Pittsburg Noon Rotary, the Salvation Army Advisory Board and the Crawford County Community Coalition. She also just made her match through Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

“Stephanie’s strong connection to the community made her a natural fit for the role,” said Pittsburg City Manager Daron Hall. “We’re glad to have her at City Hall.”
