Recreation Worker Summer Camp

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Recreation Program Manager and Recreation Program Leader, performs routine work of moderate difficulty in supervising and leading children’s activities. Must be organized, reliable and good with children ages 5-12. Hours of work are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, M-F. Must be at least 16 years of age to apply.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and teach children games, arts and crafts, sports and outdoor activities.
• Perform minor custodial duties in facilities and surrounding park areas.

Salary Range: $9.00 – $11.00

• Good knowledge of recreational activities, knowledge of working with children in a group situation.
• Ability to establish a good rapport with children and still maintain discipline

EDUCATION

• Experience working with school-age children preferred; but not required.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Must meet licensing requirements.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

• Provide supervision and guidance to a group of children under the direction of a group leader.
• Carryout out program activities.
• Foster positive, healthy relationships with children
