Human Resources Representative

In the dynamic and exciting role, the Human Resources Representative serves as a key team member within the City of Pittsburg’s Police Department and Human Resources Department.  The position is directly responsible HR functions including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, benefits, staff development, compliance, employee engagement, training, and employee recognition in assigned division.  Ideal candidate will combine a positive, energetic approach with proven HR leadership experience and pristine personal values and ethics.  Key contributor in the organization and a critical driver of employee success and achievement of strategic organizational goals.  This position requires the ability to work independently, exercise judgement, maintain high standard of confidentiality, passion for HR and initiative.


Qualifications

Required: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or a closely related field and three to five (3-5) years progressive experience in all phases of public and private sector personnel administration required. HRCI, SHRM, and/or IPMA certification preferred. Applicants with equivalent combination of experience and training which provides knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position will be considered.  Strong communication and Employment Law skills required.   • Strong relationship management skills required to communicate effectively with all levels of management internal/external
