Digital Communications Intern- Police Department

This position provides support to the Police Department’s Communications Team by creating, publishing, and managing content on various social media platforms and other community outreach projects.


Qualifications

Ability to plan, create, and edit digital content, which is professional, engaging, and appropriate.

Proficient with or ability to learn and be effective in using a number of desktop publishing, word processing, video editing, social media management tools, image editing software, and other platforms.

Ability to interact and communicate effectively with members of the department, other law enforcement agencies or government personnel, and community members in an individual and group setting.

Self-motivated, organized, and able to multi-task.


Requirements

Enrolled in college or university program at the sophomore level or above, preferably with a major in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or other related field.

Work environment is primarily in a general professional office setting. Computer and typing skills; Handling phone calls.

Must pass a background check and drug screen and have the ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.

This position is not eligible to start working until Mid- January 2019.
