The City of Pittsburg is seeking an experienced, visionary and servant leader for the position of Chief of Police. With a population of 20,223, Pittsburg the largest city in Southeast Kansas. The Chief of Police reports to the City Manager and is responsible for leading a department of 52 sworn officers and 24 civilian staff with a budget of $5.7 million. The Chief of Police plans and directs the activities of the Administration and Operations Divisions which include, but are not limited to, crime prevention, enforcement of criminal and traffic statutes and ordinances, community instruction, accident and criminal investigations, patrol activities, animal control, criminal history records and municipal court.
Salary Range is $56,450 – $93,563 annually depending on experience, plus KP&F Retirement, health plan and other benefits.
