This free, family-friendly event will feature live music, activities and educational resources for the community.

Nearly 20 exhibitors have signed up to participate in the event, including several non-profits, educational organizations, volunteer committees, vendors and businesses. These organizations are:

  • BH Candle Supply

  • Cub Scout Pack 151
  • Deals on the Bus
  • Heartland Beekeepers
  • Live Well Crawford County
  • Mary Kay Cosmetics
  • Miners and Monroe

The Sustainability Advisory Committee, with the help of Home Depot, will host a free activity for kids during the event, where each child will have an opportunity to decorate and take home a toad house. This fun craft is one of many interactive learning opportunities featured at the Earth Day Celebration.

A number of businesses and organizations will have interactive exhibits, giveaways, and activities for families. Cub Scout Pack 151 will provide education on native trees and plant species in the area. Kids will get to plant a native seed in a cup with potting soil. Pittsburg State University Library Services will share a demonstration on growing milkweed plants for monarch butterflies. Vendors like Miners and Monroe will be selling merchandise and providing information about brands that promote sustainability and use recycled materials or organic products.
