It is a truly “boffo” hit\, winning a record twelve Tony Awards and wowing capacity crowds night after night.\n\nThe plot is simple: a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history\, thereby bilking their backers (all “little old ladies”) out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! The antics of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they maneuver their way fecklessly through finding a show (the gloriously offensive “Springtime for Hitler”)\, hiring a director\, raising the money and finally going to prison for their misdeeds is a lesson in broad comic construction. DESCRIPTION:The community is invited to town halls hosted by Pittsburg State University Health\, Human Performance and Recreation’s Administration of Recreation Sport class and the City of Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Department (PPRD). \nThe town hall meetings will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday\, March 2\, and Wednesday\, March 4\, at the Lincoln Center\, 710 W. 9th St.\, in Pittsburg. \nThey are inviting anyone in the Pittsburg area community who has or would like to participate in PPRD programming\, use PPRD facilities\, or engage with others in the community. \nThe class will use data from these meetings to create a strategic plan and will disseminate a community survey sometime in March.
