Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! The antics of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they maneuver their way fecklessly through finding a show (the gloriously offensive “Springtime for Hitler”)\, hiring a director\, raising the money and finally going to prison for their misdeeds is a lesson in broad comic construction. DESCRIPTION:The Pittsburg Community Theatre’s Spring 2025 production of Lend Me a Tenor is a madcap comedy that delivers nonstop laughter. Set in 1934\, the story follows a single day in the life of Cleveland’s Grand Opera Company. Their much-anticipated production of Pagliacci is at stake as they await the arrival of famed Italian tenor Tito Merelli\, also known as “Il Stupendo.” However\, Tito’s grand entrance takes a chaotic turn when he arrives late\, exhausted\, and in a sour mood\, exacerbated by his jealous wife’s suspicions.\n \nA comedy of errors unfolds when Tito accidentally overdoses on tranquilizers\, and the opera’s director\, Saunders\, mistakenly believes him to be dead.
