SUMMARY:Pittsburg High School Presents: Les Miserables
DESCRIPTION:Set in early 19th-century France\, Les Misérables tells the story of Jean Valjean\, a French peasant\, and his desire for redemption\, who is released from jail in 1815 after serving nineteen years for stealing a loaf of bread for his sister’s starving child. Valjean breaks his parole and start his life anew\, and in disguise\, with great success\, after a bishop inspires him with a tremendous act of mercy. But a police inspector\, Javert\, pursues Valjean over the decades in a single-minded quest for “justice”.
