Pittsburg native Caleb Hoyer returns to his hometown for the first time to perform his one-man concert, Caleb Hoyer and a Piano. Accompanying himself at the piano, he shares his original songs, plus deeply personal and funny stories, charting his journey as a musician from Kansas to New York to Broadway.
Caleb Hoyer is a composer/lyricist, pianist, conductor, and vocal coach originally from Pittsburg, KS. He recently finished a nearly two-year run as a pianist and conductor for Broadway’s Anastasia. He was the pianist for the American premiere productions of Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, as well as the associate conductor and pianist for the national tour of Jason Robert Brown’s Tony-winning musical The Bridges of Madison County. He has written music and lyrics for the musicals Nightfall, Hesitation Waltz, 15 Minutes to Midnight, and Dance Moms: The Musical, which was featured on the Lifetime television series of the same name. He was the founding music director of the acclaimed concert series If It Only Even Runs a Minute. Last year he premiered his one-man show Caleb Hoyer and a Piano in New York City. He holds a degree in composition from New York University, where he was on faculty for five years in the Program of Vocal Performance. He is the recipient of a Bistro Award and the Alan Menken Award.
