On Saturday, September 11, the City of Pittsburg will conduct a solemn service to recognize the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Members of the community are invited to attend.
The remembrance will be held at Fire Station No. 1, 911 W. 4th Street, Pittsburg, starting at 8:40 am.
At 8:59 am, the exact time the first World Trade Center tower fell, the Pittsburg Fire Department will perform a traditional fire department bell ceremony. Immediately following, the Pittsburg Fire Department honor guard will post the American flag at half-mast.
