About
The mission of the Pittsburg Fire Department is to provide emergency and non-emergency fire/rescue/medical services necessary to protect life and property in the most efficient, cost effective manner for the City of Pittsburg. The Pittsburg Fire Department has an ISO rating of 3, with 1 being the best out of 10.
The Pittsburg Fire Department responds out of three fire stations within the City of Pittsburg.
One Fire Chief, three Battalion Chiefs, six Captains, three Lieutenants and 21 Firefighters man these stations.
The Pittsburg Fire Department currently utilizes over 1,200 fire hydrants for the protection of Pittsburg businesses and its citizens. At peak levels, there are over 3,750,000 gallons of water available for use.
All frontline apparatus are equipped with a Scott Thermal Imaging Camera for use in fighting structure fires. This camera is useful in that it “looks” through the smoke in a structure fire and picks up heat given off by objects such as the fire itself or a victim.
The Pittsburg Fire Department has several tools available for use in the protection of the citizens and industry of Pittsburg.
