| A:
You may come in the office if you need to pay a deposit or you may also do over phone if you have a Visa or MasterCard. You will need to supply information as follows:
• Social Security Number
• Driver License Number
• Employment Information
• Home Telephone Number
• Business Telephone Number
• Next of Kin and Phone Number
Any unpaid water accounts must be paid before new service can be added.

Deposits are $75.00
Inside City Connection fee $ 5.00
Outside City Connection fee $10.00

| A:
If you sign before 2:30 p.m. the same day, we can get service turned on (unless termination day then will be next business day). |

| A:
Yes, water and sewer are both charged unless you are on septic (outside City Service). |

| Q: ...know what is needed to sign up for bank draft? |
| A:
You will need to send a voided check or deposit slip along with the form, which is available in the Finance Department at City Hall. |

| A:
Every month your bill is based on water consumption. Included on your bill is a sewer charge. This value is also based on water usage, however during the months of November, December and January we average the monthly consumption and use this value until the following February. |

A:
Online payments can be made at our website. Click here to Pay Now! with Visa or MasterCard. You may also mail in your payments, pay directly at City Hall, or drop off payments at the City Hall Night Depository or at Ron’s IGA*. We accept cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard or Bank Draft payments.
* Money Order's and Checks are only accepted at this location.

| Q: ...know how long I have to pay my bill? |
| A:
You have 20 days from the billing date to pay without penalty. If bill not paid by due date, you will receive termination notice giving you 10 days from due date to pay or service will be terminated. |

| Q: ...know how much the penalty is if I am late? |
| A:
A 10% penalty will be added to bill. |
|
| Q: ...make a payment arrangement on my account? |
| A:
You have 10 days after the due date to make an arrangement of payment on your account. If this is not done in this time period, service will be disconnected. |

| Q: ...reinstate an account that has been terminated? |
| A:
You will need to pay the past due bill and a $25.00 termination fee. There is a 24 hour turn around time for the city to reinstate water service. |

| Q: ...transfer a deposit to another person? |
| A:
As long as the account is current, and both parties involved have agreed to this. The new occupant will be responsible for any usage on the next bill. |

| Q: ...know when I will receive my deposit? |
| A:
Your deposit will be applied to your final bill and what is left will be refunded back. Another option is if you have never been late in (18) months of service, we can credit the deposit to your account. |

| A:
Every January we calculate interest which is applied directly to account. The State Corporation Commission of the State of Kansas sets the interest rate. |

| A:
You will need to give a forwarding address to send your final bill. When you return you will only need to call us to re-activate the account. |

| A:
There is not a deposit if you own your home. You will need to pay connection fee. This fee can be billed on your first bill. |

You can call the office if it has been in the last year. After that period you will need to check with the Kansas State Treasurer’s Office. |

| A:
If you think that a payment due to you from the City of Pittsburg has been lost, call (620) 231-4100 and ask for Accounts Payable. The City will investigate the status of the check and, if necessary, will re-issue a new check. |
