The purpose of the Land Bank is to get abandoned, vacant, and otherwise underused properties back into productive use. Every transfer of property will be accompanied by a development agreement, outlining the final use of the property as well as accompanying timelines. Purchase price for Land Bank properties will be negotiated based upon the details in the development agreement, with the Land Bank Board approving the final agreement and offer.
A new website is now available for the public, providing comprehensive overview of opportunities for residential and economic development within Pittsburg. Over 30 parcels are mapped on the site, all of which are available for purchase. Anyone interested in acquiring a parcel can submit an inquiry right off the website and will be contacted by city staff.
Anyone interested in viewing the available parcels or buildings can visit the website at the link below. (http://pittsburg-ks.opportunityspace.org/). To purchase a parcel, simply make an inquiry from the website and a representative from the Land Bank or Economic Development team will reach out to discuss potential development opportunities.
These opportunities are a collection of parcels owned by the City of Pittsburg’s Land Bank as well as parcels and buildings identified by the City’s Economic Development Director which are available for businesses and entrepreneurs to purchase from private owners.
