About the S8 HCV Program:
The HCV Program provides assistance for low income families in the private rental market through the issuance of a rental voucher, which provides Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) to eligible households. Program participants ideally pay no more than 30% of their monthly adjusted income toward rent and utilities, and the HAP covers to remainder of rent balance directly to the property owner. This makes market rate rental housing affordable. Eligibility is determined by the PHA, based on the total annual gross income and family size, and is limited to U.S. citizens and specified categories of non-citizens who have eligible immigration status. In general, the family's income may not exceed 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for Crawford County, Kansas.

The below site will be your source to make and submit an initial application, as well as, make any updates to your information while on the wait list for the S8 HCV program.
Visit www.pittsburgks.housingmanager.com and click "Apply for Housing" at the bottom of the page. The next step is the start of your application process. Enter your Social Security Number, Date of Birth, and your Last Name, and then click "Get Started". It is very important that you ensure you correctly type in this information. Once you have selected "Get Started", you cannot edit these three identifying fields.
To continue, follow all instructions; enter the information for every member of your household, answer every question, fill in all required comment boxes, if prompted, and be sure to click "Terms of Agreement" at the end of the application, and then click "Submit Application".
The PHA will contact you, by mail, at the mailing address provided in your application, confirming that we have received your initial application and that your name has been added to the S8 HCV wait list. You will receive an automatic email confirmation of application, if you provided an email address with your application.
NOTE: If a notification letter is returned to the PHA with no forwarding address, or if a valid mailing address is not provided in your application, your family will be removed from the wait list. A Notice of Denial will be sent to the family's address of record. Placement on the wait list does not indicate that your family is, in fact, eligible for assistance. A final determination of eligibility will be made when your family is selected from the wait list. Applicants will be placed on the wait list according to the date and time the PHA receives the complete online application.
